But sadly, we pay little or no attention to the mattresses we use. The truth is this, mattresses ought to be one of the biggest providers of comfort in a home.
Some go to bed stressed and wake up stressed, because their kind of mattress does not suit them. Apart from having a comfortable and restful sleep, there are other things that should be considered, such as the durability and price of the mattress. Also, your bed frame and room size must be considered to determine what size of bed to buy.
- Sleeping position: if you’re a side sleeper, you’ll need a mattress that’ll help you relieve pressure at the parts of your body which push against the mattress. For your kind of person, a pocket sprung with a soft top is most suitable for you. It is also not unsafe to try latex or memory foam mattresses. In essence, you should avoid a firm mattress. If you sleep on your face, a pocket sprung mattress can also world for you, but with memory foam, you may feel restrained. You can opt for latex as well since there’s more bounce-back. As a back sleeper, any mattress is good for you, but it is better if you find one that is firm enough to support your spine in good alignment.
- Body peculiarities: generally, people who are weighty tend to prefer more firm mattresses while people with lightweight prefer medium or soft mattresses. Along with this peculiarity should come your sleeping position and personal preference. As they say, nothing makes you more comfortable like being in your comfort zone. Then if you have issues with your back, especially if you’re a back sleeper, don’t automatically conclude that a firm mattress will suffice. if you have to share the mattress with someone, you can get a mattress that has different feelings on either side.
